Strange Fruit Radio
Strange Fruit Radio was essentially borne out of the ashes of the end of Xfm and the very sad loss of B.B.C. Radio One Presenter, John Peel.
Both, essentially, had a very similar aim: to promote music from artists and bands who were either up and coming, and therefore probably unknown, and to mix that together with music you may not hear on most other radio stations, especially during the daytime.
Xfm was obviously more commerically biased, but evenso was obviously a very different offering from most other radio stations, especially other commercial operators.
Whereas today, we do have B.B.C. Radio 6Music and John Kennedy still presents on Radio X, Strange Fruit Radio doesn’t feel this is enough!
